Early in November, many players noticed that eWalletXpress was disappearing from many online gambling sites, and even ceased to be available through the cashier of many online gambling sites. When asked about the problem, eWalletXpress customer service informed consumers that they were experiencing “technical issues,” but the truth is turning to be explained by circumstances that are much more dire.

This week, management at a major online gambling informed SportsbookGurus that a federal warrant has been served to eWalletXpress. Like NETeller before it, eWalletXpress is likely to pull out of the American market immediately in order to prevent serious litigation, fines, seizures and damages.

Very few specific details have been released, but sources have been stating that funds are already being seized. The amount of money that has allegedly been seized or frozen has not yet been determined.

Account holders who have money in their eWalletXpress account can currently request to receive their funds through the e-mail address payouts@ewalletxpress.com. They are not sending out checks, but they will allegedly transfer funds back into checking accounts when the “technical issues are resolved.”

Many online gambling sites, particularly the larger ones such as Bodog and Intertops, have already been heavily affected. In the case where eWalletXpress was a primary deposit method, the loss is a heavy burden to bear. Fortunately, new deposit options are becoming more prevalent through many of the online casinos, such as WinPalace and Cherry Red, sportsbooks, and poker rooms.

Since the trouble began with eWalletXpress, several new deposit methods had been introduced to gambling sites that used eWalletXpress. MyPayLinQ and Digital-Pin are two examples of these.

UseMyWallet remains one of the few long running deposit options available to USA players. UseMyWallet is an invitation only service, but UseMyWallet sign up can easily be achieved through any reputable gambling site that accepts this method.

UseMyWallet is wise alternative to eWalletXpress due to the elevated security of this deposit method, as well as their similarities. UseMyWallet is widely available through all forms of gambling site, with an emphasis on sportsbooks and online casinos.

Assorted prepaid cards are also an option, including those that can be purchased online and in stores, ranging from Wal-Marts to convenience stores. Prepaid Card Casinos, sportsbooks, and poker sites are proving to be very valuable during this period of uncertainty.

Since the saga against deposit options continues in the United States, players are once again urged to write their senators and representatives requesting that the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, or the UIGEA, be over turned. The Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act, or HR 2267, is still working its way through Congress, spear-headed by Barney Frank, though it seems that the bill has fallen stagnant.

Having passed through the the House Financial Services Committee, HR 2267 was meant to be brought into the House of Representatives. Shortly after passing through the committee, the House went into the a period in which representatives handled case work. Elections further postponed the issue, and it is unlikely that HR 2267 will resurface before the year is through.
